Réka Kaponay: Author Presentation and Student Writer's Workshop

We invite you to attend an Author Presentation and Writer’s Workshop with 15-year-old Réka where she will share her journey to publication and stories of her travels and adventures that saw her live with the descendants of the Incas, share dreaming stories with the Aboriginal people of Australia, backpack through India and more. Réka and her family will happily answer any questions that you might have and it is your opportunity to purchase your very own signed and dedicated first edition copy of Réka’s book - Dawn of the Guardian. Afterwards there will be writer's workshop for students in grade 5-12.
All family members are welcome to attend the Author Presentation, please register students (5th -12th grade) for the Writer's Workshop.

England in the Time of King Richard III*

The discovery of King Richard III’s skeleton in a Leicester car park made headline news.
Join us as we hold a discussion group at the library for this six-week MOOC (massive open online course class) that takes you on a journey through 15th century England’s archaeology, history and literature and looks at the king’s rediscovery and reinterment. Susan Savion will facilitate the program. Susan has a masters degree in education from Southern Illinois University and taught in the Syracuse school district for 21 years. She is a history buff and the author of Quoting Matilda.
