Borrowing OverDrive eBooks and Audiobooks on Android Devices, including NOOK and Kindle Fire
Updated January 2015: This handout is for people who have devices running the Android operating system, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the new Nook Tablet (which is really just a co-branded Samsung Galaxy Tab), or any other device that runs the Android operating system. In fact, this can even be used with the Kindle Fire family of devices, since they run Android too. We have a collection of both eBooks and audiobooks available through the OverDrive catalog; these can be downloaded directly to your device without even connecting to a computer.
Borrowing OverDrive eBooks Using Amazon e-Ink Kindles
Updated January 2015: Yes, we have library eBooks for your Amazon Kindle! They are available from the OverDrive Downloadables catalog. This handout is specifically written for people who are using Amazon’s classic eInk readers like the basic Kindle, the Kindle Paperwhite, and the Kindle Voyage. It will take you through the steps to select, checkout, and download books from OCPL's OverDrive catalog. (Sorry, downloadable eBooks from the 3M Cloud library for Amazon eInk Kindles such as the Paperwhite are not currently provided.)

This year's guide will try to walk you through some of the current crop of devices so that you can figure out which one is best for your person (or what to ask them to get you)…or whether you should get them one at all.
