Children's programs are a special and important part of what we are here at Liverpool Public Library. We spend a lot of time planning our programs to meet the needs of children birth through the teen years.
The two core programs are "Drop-In for Mother Goose" and "Drop-In for Crafts." Mother Goose is for children birth through three years. In it they hear stories, sing songs and interact with fingerplays. This program usually runs twice during each month.
The Craft program is one we're very proud of. This program runs one day a month from morning through evening in the Children's Room. Kids and their parents make seasonal crafts that have been selected for ease of construction and appropriate age level. Most of the crafts require cutting, pasting, and coloring.
Our seasonal programs only run at certain times of the year. Our Storytimes run for ten weeks, usually in the fall and winter.
The best way to be informed as to when they will be available is to keep an eye on our calendar. Some of these programs may also be available during our Summertime schedule.
We also run one of-a-kind programs or we may hire a performer to come visit. We have had Harry Potter programs, American Girl tea parties, and unique craft programs (like tie-dye). The best way to know about them is to get on our mailing list (opens in a new window), keep an eye on our website, or to pick up a flyer in the Children's Room.
