The Liverpool Public Library's funding comes from:

  • The direct support we receive from the taxpayers of the Liverpool School District.
  • An annual grant from the taxpayers of New York State.
  • Grants.
  • Revenue from computer printing, copiers, interest, and the like.
  • Overdue fines, and fees charged for lost books.
  • Money dropped in our donation box.
  • Gifts, bequests and donations.

Drop some coins or bills into our donation box the next time you visit. It is located near the checkout area.

Donate to our Foundation

Community-FoundationYou can now donate online to the Liverpool Public Library Fund at the Central NY Community Foundation, Inc.

This Agency Fund was created by the Board of Trustees as a convenience to donors and to support both capital and general library purposes.

This page also handles matching gifts through your employer. It also provides information on making memorial gifts and donating stock.

Donations may also be made by check. The check should be made out to the Central New York Community Foundation. The check memo line should be used to indicate it should be credited to Liverpool Public Library Fund. Contributions may also be made through a transfer of stock or wire transfer from your account. Please contact Jenn Owens at (315) 883-5540 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. Volunteer

Be a volunteer! Opportunities are varied and some are seasonal, but every volunteer hour is very much appreciated.

Donate Books and DVDs

We accept hardcover and quality (trade) paperback books and Media materials (DVD, CD, audiobooks) both fiction and nonfiction in good condition. There are drop-off bins in the library's parking garage, under the building or you can bring them to the Customer Service Desk in the library. Tax donation forms are available at either spot.

Materials We DO NOT Accept Include:

Encyclopedias, Condensed Reader's Digest books, textbooks
Books copyrighted three years from the current year in the following categories:
           Business management and economics, computer, education, physical and mental health and psychology.
Plastic or vinyl records
VHS tapes
Cassette tapes
Magazines

Books that are:
water damaged or have other liquid stains
musty, mildewed or smoke odors
dusty and grime
missing or damaged covers and/or spines
heavily highlighted or underscored

Book Sellers and Large Quantities of Books

If you are a book seller going out of business or an estate with a large volume of books, please call the Library's Community Relations Department at 315-457-0310 x112.
