Geocaching!  Now you can get out and try geocaching around Onondaga Lake Park with one of the library's new OnSafari Geocaching Kits. In addition, the library has hidden five caches in Onondaga Lake Park.  If you already have your own GPS - more information on the caches can be found at geocaching.com. Enter the Liverpool zip code (13088) in the search field and look for the OnSafari with Liverpool Library caches.



Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches,outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups and is a great outdoors activity for the whole family.

The OnSafari Geocaching Kits include a handheld Garmin GPS, handbook and quick start guide on locating geocaches hidden around Onondaga Lake and Liverpool.

If you'd rather search the skies for the ospreys and eagles around Central New York, check out one the new OnSafari Wildlife Observation Kits. It includes binoculars, guidebooks, eagle
viewing info and maps, and checklists to record the local wildlife you see. Two additional kits feature special close-up binoculars for viewing butterflies and insects. Other kits available include the new Stargazer Kits, with special binoculars and star charts, and The Family History Video Kit for recording your family history using a Flipcam.
