With September knocking on our door, the column I wrote for this week's community Eagle Newsonline and Star Review newspaper tackled the programs set up for the next two months by our LPL programming staff.

You can read it on Eagle Newsonline here.

 UFO event

(Or you ready to hear Cheryl and Linda Costa host UFOs in the USL The Big Picture at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Carman Community Room?)

You can also read the column below:

Old friends will return and new faces will be welcomed as a new programming season comes knocking on the Liverpool Public Library’s doors.

The community can find familiar favorites back to the LPL as they flip through the pages of the programming guide for September and October. And to celebrate National Library Card Sign-Up Month, everybody age 5 and up who signs up for an LPL card throughout September by stopping at the Information @ LPL Desk or going to our library card sign up page will be eligible to win a prize in our drawing.

Popular guests coming back to the LPL include:

UFO experts and writers Cheryl and Linda Costa will host UFOs in the US: The Big Picture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, in the Carman Community Room. The pair who wrote UFO Sightings Desk Reference: United States of America 2001-2020 will talk about statistics, maps and more on a topic that keeps getting hotter in the news.

Representatives of the Bonsai Club of Central New York will bring some of their finest specimens and hold forth in the Carman Community Room from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, for their Bonsai Show. Interested patrons can ask about starting and maintaining the gorgeous little trees, too.

Jeff Ludwig, director of education to the William Seward House Museum in Auburn, comes back to talk about the popular former Secretary of State’s significance in history at William Seward Circumnavigates the Globe. At 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, in the Carman Community Room.
