It's time to start noticing the LPL2Go Book Bike art out and about the Liverpool community.

In fact, a staffer will push it across Second Street when the Liverpool Is the Place concerts begin with concert No.  for this season, at 7 p.m. Monday, June 6.

That's the subject of this week's community library column for Eagle News Online/Star Review.

Be on the lookout for the LPL2Go Book Bike Cart!

If you haven't seen it yet, you can read it here.

It’s time for music to fill the air at Johnson Park again.

Our staffers will make sure that community members who take to the green space on Second Street to enjoy the first Liverpool Is the Place concert of the season on Monday, June 6, can spot the LPL2Go Book Bike Cart, too. The Book Bike Cart will be filled with information and materials, and the library staffers will be ready to talk about what’s going on at the LPL in these coming months of Let’s Read Liverpool! Oceans of Possibilities.

The concert series begins with a 7 p.m. show that Monday by popular Central New York Beatles tribute band The Fab Cats. Our colorful Book Bike Cart will be out in the park an hour before the show starts. You can sign up for a library card if you don’t have one, or use your current card to check out the materials that will be on the cart.

Staffers will be able to answer questions about the summer reading clubs for children, teens and adults, all which will kick off this year with two celebration/registration sessions, at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 25 and Monday, June 27, on the Liverpool Public Library Dinosaur Garden lawn.

The Liverpool Is the Place concerts take place at 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, through Aug. 17.

The LPL2Go Book Bike Cart also will visit the series on Wednesday, June 29, for the acoustic roots music show by the Cadleys; Wednesday, July 13 for the R&B/soul music show by Menage a Soul; and Wednesday, July 27, for the dance rock of Mood Swing.

“Our Community Engagement team at Liverpool Public Library looks forward to connecting with our community at several Liverpool Is the Place concerts this summer,” said department coordinator Deanna McGregor. “Concert-goers can stop by our cart to check out materials, get a library card, connect to our free WIFI and spin our trivia wheel. Of course, our librarians are ready to help answer any questions, too. We’ve missed our concerts the last couple of summers, so we can’t wait to join the fun and beautiful Johnson Park.”
