Mammoth Winter Reading Challenge (Runs Jan. 1 - 31, 2026)

Preschool:

Take a mammoth challenge and read 20 books in January! Grab a reading log from the Children’s Desk and color in one book for each book your child reads (or you read to them) during the month of January. Complete a reading log and return it to the Children’s Desk at the library.

Grab another reading log, and keep the MAMMOTH fun going all January long. (Ages 0 - 5 years)

Children, Tweens, Teens:

Students in grades K-8 in the Liverpool Central School District will be given the Mammoth Winter Reading Challenge forms at school. (If they complete their challenge sheets, they can pick up more at Liverpool Public Library. Keep the Mammoth fun going!)

• ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:Track your reading. Read for 6 hours in January, and compete against other elementary schools to help your school become the Mammoth Winter Reading Winner!
• MIDDLE SCHOOL: Track your reading. Read for 4 hours in January, and compete against other middle schools to help your school become the Mammoth Winter Reading Winner!
• HIGH SCHOOL: Stop into the LPL to grab your challenge form. Track your reading. Read for 4 hours in January, and return your form to the LPL for a chance to win a gift card.
• HOMESCHOOLERS: Homeschoolers are welcome to participate; simply pick up a log sheet from the Children's Desk.

Mammoth Winter Reading Challenge (Adults)

Kick off the year by treating yourself to some great reads! Throughout January, the Liverpool Public Library invites adults who love to read—or want to challenge themselves to read more—to join our Winter Reading Program. Participants can choose to take part online or on paper and will receive a Winter Book Bag filled with a winter-themed book and a few cozy surprises to help them start the year off right! Read (or listen to) books, complete challenges/activities to reveal secret codes, and enter to win prizes!  

Here's how to earn points:

Finish & Log a Book (Ebook, Hard Copy, or Audio):  50 Points

Complete an Activity (Under the Missions Tab): 50 Points Each
