Grab it & Go: LPL Garage Holds Pick Up by appointment

Our garage drive-through is still an option if you would like to pick up items without going into the building. See below for more details.

How does Grab It & Go - LPL Garage Holds Pick Up work?

  1. Schedule a date to pick up your items by calling 315-457-0310. Items are available for pickup daily, starting when the library opens. Pickup runs until 30 minutes before close. See our library hours here.
  2. Items may be picked up from the Grab It & Go book shelf, located in the LPL Garage. The shelf is located past the book drop. 
  3. If you encounter a problem, call 315-457-0310 for assistance. 

FAQs

Do I need a library card?
Yes, patrons must hold a library card registered with Onondaga County Public Library to use LPL’s pick-up service. If you do not have a library card, Liverpool Public Library can create a temporary card for you. Call the library at 315-457-0310 and our staff will help you with the process. Please note that phone reference is not available 5 minutes before closing.

What materials are available for pick-up?
All physical materials currently on the shelf at LPL are available, including books, DVDs, audios and CDs. In short, anything that can fit in a paper bag. Note: This excludes some Library of Things items.

How do I reserve items for pick-up?
You can reserve most titles online or over the phone. Requests are limited to five items per patron at a time. Once your hold is available, you will be notified and staff will then make an appointment for you to pick up your holds in our garage.

Can library staff help me find something to read/view?
Yes! Contact the library or use the online form for reading and viewing suggestions.

What if I want to pick up my holds at LPL, but I chose another library as my pick-up location?

If the materials you’d like to check out are available at LPL, please call the library or cancel your existing hold and place another hold in the reservation system and select LPL as your pick-up location.

Who can pick up my items?
Anyone you designate may pick up your items.

What if I don’t have a car, or prefer to walk to the library? Can I still participate in GRAB IT & GO?
We are offering walk-up service. Then use the garage entrance and follow the signs. 

What if I have mobility issues and cannot leave my vehicle?
If possible, bring someone who can get your bag with you. Alternatively, we can provide an accommodation such as placing bagged items on the hood or in the trunk of your vehicle. Please request this when you call.

How long can I keep checked out materials?
All items will have a loan period of three weeks.

Items may be renewed online or by calling the library, provided no one else has requested them and if the renewal limit has not been reached.

What if I have fines or I’m over the checkout limit? Can I still check out materials?

What if I no longer want to check out the items I have on hold?
Please call the library and staff will assist you.

Where do I return items?
The book drops are open on Tulip Street, Second Street and in the parking garage.

Can I drop off book donations?
At this time, we are not accepting book donations.

What is the library doing to protect the safety of patrons and library staff?
