Winter Program Guide

Liverpool Public Library's Winter 2010 Program Guide is now available.  You can download a PDF copy, or pick one up at the library. Programs for January through March 2010 are featured.

Library Closed Noon - 5 PM on March 16

The Liverpool Public Library will be closed from Noon until 5 PM on Tuesday, March 16 to allow our staff to attend staff development day workshops.   The library will be open on March 16 from 9 AM until noon and from 5 PM until 9 PM.

MediaBank: Coming Soon, with More Movies for Liverpool Patrons
closeup_1795.jpg Everyone has been curious about the MediaBank which arrived here some weeks ago. Much work has been done to adapt the software to our library's needs; we hope to unveil this new technology to the public in a few weeks.

A valid library card along with a PIN are required to use the MediaBank, and a PIN can only be added to your library card record while you are in the library. Your library card is required to reserve, take out, and return items to the MediaBank.

Controversial Classics Cinema Series with Kendall Phillips

We are pleased to have Syracuse University Professor Kendall Phillips back to present another series on controversial films, their impact on society, and the reaction to them. The next program will take place on Thursday evening March 18 at 6 p.m. in the Carman Community Room.  Showing that night: Million Dollar Baby starring and directed by Clint Eastwood. This film is rated PG-13 and runs for 137 minutes. A short lecture will precede the film and there will be time for discussion to follow.

This program is free and open to everyone. No registration is required.

The Controversial Classics Cinema Series continues on a monthly basis until April.

Schedule a Flu Shot (Onondaga County)
Use the Onondaga County Heath Department's site to schedule a flu shot. You will need to create a free account. Note that these clinics are only the ones sponsored by the county health department. Others are sponsored by local drug stores, grocery stores, and similar facilities.

Census 2010 Jobs Available
"The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting temporary, part-time census takers for the 2010 Census. These short-term jobs offer good pay, flexible hours, paid training, and reimbursement for authorized work-related expenses, such as mileage incurred while conducting census work." Donors should check out charities before they give. You can do that at this site. You'll find a list of non-profit organizations working in Haiti, read reviews on the organizations, and also be able to click to doante if you wish.
