Project Sunlight - Making New York State Government Transparent

The next Web Wednesday will take place on February 10 at 7 PM.  A representative from the State Attorney General's Office will be in the Carman Community Room at 7 PM to explain Project Sunlight 2.0, New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's newest version of his governmental website. Registration is requested.

Historical Perspectives - Memories of the 15th Ward: Syracuse University Public Memory Project
15th-ward.jpgAn evening of memories and stories related to Syracuse's 15th Ward and our sense of home, neighborhood, and community will be the topic on Thursday evening, February 11 in the Carman Community Room. A reception will take place at 6:30 PM followed by a mixed media presentation and documentary about the Ward at 7 PM.
This program is free and open to the public. If you grew up in or live in the 15th Ward today, you will enjoy this walk down memory lane.

 
Family Chinese New Year Storytime

Local Artist's Work on Display in Lobby

Art in the Lobby at the Liverpool Public Library will be a display of work by local artist Roscha Folger. Her mixed media exhibit is entitled "Nature" and can be viewed during regular library hours.

Schedule a Flu Shot (Onondaga County)
Use the Onondaga County Heath Department's site to schedule a flu shot. You will need to create a free account. Note that these clinics are only the ones sponsored by the county health department. Others are sponsored by local drug stores, grocery stores, and similar facilities.

Census 2010 Jobs Available
"The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting temporary, part-time census takers for the 2010 Census. These short-term jobs offer good pay, flexible hours, paid training, and reimbursement for authorized work-related expenses, such as mileage incurred while conducting census work." Donors should check out charities before they give. You can do that at this site. You'll find a list of non-profit organizations working in Haiti, read reviews on the organizations, and also be able to click to doante if you wish.
