motherteresa_090.jpgWe welcome Margaret Castellini from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse to present a program based on her biographical research project about Mother Teresa.  This year marks the 100th birthday of this courageous woman who felt an inner calling to leave her convent and work directly with the poor. Come and hear her fascinating story.

This program will take place on Thursday evening, March 11 at 7 PM in the Carman Community Room. It is free and open to the public.

College Spotlight
spotlights.jpgShed some light on exploring career directions, identifying appropriate colleges, and mastering the admissions process. We have programs focusing on college just for teens and their parents/guardians. They take place March 15 and 22 at 7PM. Come to the ones which apply specifically to you. Registration for each program is required.

Schedule a Flu Shot (Onondaga County)
Use the Onondaga County Heath Department's site to schedule a flu shot. You will need to create a free account. Note that these clinics are only the ones sponsored by the county health department. Others are sponsored by local drug stores, grocery stores, and similar facilities.
Health Care Reform: Fact Checking
Visit the Annenberg Public Policy Center's "FactCheck.org" then try http://www.politifact.org for the "Truth-o-meter" on punditry. CNN has a guide called "What you need to know about health care reform "
Census 2010 Jobs Available
"The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting temporary, part-time census takers for the 2010 Census. These short-term jobs offer good pay, flexible hours, paid training, and reimbursement for authorized work-related expenses, such as mileage incurred while conducting census work." This link tells you how to apply and includes a brief practice aptitude test.
Giving to Haitian Relief Efforts
Donors should check out charities before they give. You can do that at this site. You'll find a list of non-profit organizations working in Haiti, read reviews on the organizations, and also be able to click to doante if you wish.
