Thanks to All as We Turn the Pages on Another Popular Book Sale

The crowds lined up along the driveway of our underground garage and around Tulip Street to get their best shot at the donated and withdrawn-from-collections books that lined the 48 tables all three days of the 2018 Used Book Sale Down Under.

When the rope came down and the shoppers came in, it was an impressive sight indeed.

Once inside, shoppers were heard to label the choices as "awesome."

SunBookSaleFB99On Sunday, Sept. 23, patrons were given a really big deal. The folks at Nichols Supermarket on First Street again donated their spiffy-looking paper bags for Bag Sale Day. All the books that shoppers could fit inside the bag could be bought for $5.

SunBookSaleFB88Yes, that drew a crowd.

LonelyBooks2By the end of the shopping day, some of the tables were looking sort of lonely.

BoxesFillingPostSale2The orange-vested volunteers and staffers made sure that the leftover books were collected so they could be donated to a worthy cause. Boxes were broken down so they can be used again.

Thanks to all who volunteered for the year-long effort of book sorting, setting up, sale operation and break down. Folks from Northside Baptist Church, the Liverpool High School Key Club, Innovative Interfaces and Rooftop Realty stepped up to help big time. And many individuals from throughout the community signed up for many, many shifts.

Donations open again on Monday, Oct. 1.
